On this visit there were a few disruptions. First, a student was talking and throwing paper around the room. At first the teacher was saying the students name and looking at him, then the teacher stopped teaching and looked at the student till the disruptions stopped, and finally when the student started again the teacher told the student that he couldn't play with the putty they were making in class. In another class there was a student that was not doing any work and was making comments throughout the class. The teacher would say the students name and use proximity to keep the student quiet. Also, the teacher would talk to the student during breaks as an attempt to motivate. There are a few students that cause some problems on a normal bases and the teacher often uses proximity and addresses the problems as they occur and when its necessary to move the student to a different part of the room. I will be using groups often so I will try to have groups that are able to work together without causing problems which may mean changing the groups on occasion so that students do not get troublesome.
